My Failed Attempt at Being Anti-Social (Media)

I confess, I failed.  I had every intention of taking a break from social media this weekend, but Lexington was just so beautiful, I had to share, #SharetheLex.  At the end of the day, I blame Lexington, it’s not my fault at all.

I did surprisingly well on Day 1 due to the lack of cell service, but that night after a couple amazing drinks at Coles 735 Main, I fell off the wagon.  It was all downhill from there.  Speaking of downhills, I wish Kentucky had more of them, my glutes have never been in better shape after all the uphill hiking.  Overall, I had an amazing time and I’m even contemplating moving to Kentucky.  In my next post, you’ll see why.

At least my Instagram feed looks nice

Goodbye World, I’m Disconnecting from Social Media

The time has come, I am finally taking a much needed vacation to Lexington, Kentucky with my fiancé.  It will give us a chance to spend some quality time together as well as disconnect from the world, something we both have a very hard time doing.  He is guilty of checking emails and answering client phone calls after hours whereas I also have this issue, but my greater problem is social media.

I’ll admit it; I think I am addicted to social media.

Typical Dinner

So, during this getaway, I am going to break free and disconnect from the world of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Periscope…what else am I missing? (Caveat, I get one hour in the evening to upload a photo or two and I get some time to document my day social media-less via my blog.)  I am honestly excited to try this. And nervous because I’m not sure I can go a whole day without checking my Instagram.

You know you have a problem when you wake up in the middle of the night and start checking social media, and scrolling through your newsfeed is your only way to fall back to sleep.

So, I’m sorry fellow Snapchatters, but I am going on a hiatus.  I will be back next week.

That is if I’m able to disconnect.  Wish me luck!

P.S.: I’m doubting myself as I am writing this post.  Yee of little faith.

Orlando King Cobra Found, There Goes My Weekend

It’s a bittersweet day for Orlandoans.  The King Cobra which escaped in early September has been found and taken back to its owner.  Now how will I discover new coffee shops, bars and fun attractions in Orlando? My weekends just got a little more boring.

Thanks to the King Cobra‘s run on the town, I found quite a few spots I plan to frequent more often.

Propagation Coffee in Mills 50 District

Lineage Coffee and Bookmark It. Bought this book and I plan on exploring more of the beautiful state of Florida.

Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen in Winter Park

That’s a lot of coffee.  I should probably do a post at some point on my unhealthy obsession with coffee.

To see what I’m talking about, follow @orlandokingcobra on Instagram. Happy slithering!
