Fall in Love with Nature in Alton, Illinois

Travel

Sometimes you find something in this world that is just so beautiful, it feels almost magical, and you just want to lose yourself in the moment.  That’s the way I felt on my recent getaway to Illinois. Mother Nature has a majestic way of showing off her brilliance, especially during the fall season. Breathing in the crisp air as I hiked through the woodlands of The Nature Institute made me feel alive.  The colors popped more and more with each…

Home Sweet Home at The Green Tree Inn

Travel

The welcoming sense of coming home after a long day. Learning about local history from an area resident.  And a hearty breakfast to get the day started. Those are all the benefits of staying at a bed & breakfast. Prior to my trip to Alton, Illinois, I had never stayed in a bed & breakfast. Now, I wouldn’t say I’m a believer or non-believer in ghosts or spirits, but sometimes it just feels…

Hakuna Matata, Not so Worry Free

Travel

Just in time for the Halloween season, I thought I would share my ghostly experiences in Alton, Illinois. During this time of year, there are a variety of ghost tour options. I was able to experience two different tours; a river cruise down the Mississippi River and a Trolley Tour through the historic city streets. I would recommend either of these options for those history buffs out there.  The river cruise is a relaxing way to learn about the history…

My Fall Adventure to Alton, Illinois

Travel

I am packed and ready for my next big adventure.  I am heading to Alton, Illinois for a few days to experience a fall adventure. Here in Florida, temperatures are still hitting the high 90’s and everything is still so…green.  I guess it’s not a bad thing; the Florida seasons are similar to my wardrobe, all the same color. Oh, how I love fall though.  It’s perfect; the temperatures, the colors and the feeling.  It’s so festive and happy. After…
